Find out about All in Islington

All in Islington is a project that aims to get disabled people in Islington active. The project is led by Islington Council and GLL, who manage the borough’s leisure centres.

The activities below form part of the project. Where relevant they are listed on the website:

  • Football takes place for young people with a learning disability, women with a learning disability, and mental health service users (by referral only). A multi-aspect football festival took place in autumn 2014
  • A cycling session for all disabled people takes place at the Podium that surrounds the Emirates
  • Swimming lessons took place in May to August 2015 for people with a learning disability. This will be repeated and expanded to include people with a physical disability
  • Tennis takes place for mental health service users (by referral only)
  • Disability training has taken place for sports coaches, which will be repeated. Free training is available for disabled people to become a sports coach
  • Mystery shopping of the leisure centres has been undertaken by disabled people
  • Ironmonger Row Baths has recently been accredited as excellent in the Inclusive Fitness Initiative, just one of three centres in the country to have this rating
  • This website was created. It brings together the activities listed above and current activities for disabled people
